Good for getting sun without burning
I've been using Coppertone 8 to get a bit of a tan when I can sit out for a few minutes at a time. It helps me get even color without turning red and burning. The scent is ok...not nearly as good as the Original 4!!! Sure wish it was still available; would like to go down to a 4 after using the 8 initially.

Trying the "new" Coppertone 8
I was sent some coupons to try the above since my old bottle of 8 had a very chemical smell to it from being out of date. The pros: the 8 did a good job of keeping me from burning in roughly 25 minutes of very hot sun/temps (90's)! I had a little color before but not really a tan. The cons: while the scent is slightly similar to the original 4, it's not the same. Please don't claim it's Classic Coppertone because it's not!!!The top scent notes are too "bright" and fade away quickly. The original had a "warmer" more beach-y scent that lingered for a long time after applying. My theory is that the company decided to stop using more quality ingredients for the scent to make it more profitable, which has ruined something that was once UNIQUE and GREAT!! Since I've read the prior reviews, I know what the standard company answer is..."too bad we're disappointed"...etc. Too bad indeed!

Looking for SPF 4
I’m glad I bought half a dozen bottles of SPF 4 years ago when it read getting scarce, it works great and fragrance is wonderful. I was hoping it would become available again. I hate the other SPF4 brands that smell like coconuts or bananas.
And I don't care for the SPF 8, I don’t spend that much time in the sun. The SPF 8 makes it difficult to get a tan.
