Benefits of Face Sunscreen:
Face sunscreens help provide sun protection in a lightweight formula that goes on easily, dries quickly, and can layer under makeup. When used with other sun protection measures, using a facial sunscreen helps protect your skin from the sun’s harmful UV rays while providing other skincare benefits that all-over sunscreens may not have.
Coppertone Every Tone face sunscreens each offer different benefits depending on the formula – Coppertone Age UV Defense Face Sunscreen SPF 60+ enriched with antioxidant Bakuchiol goes on clear and helps defend against early signs of aging from sun exposure*.
Coppertone Brightening UV Defense Face Sunscreen SPF 60+ enriched with Niacinamide also goes on clear and helps even skin tone and diminish the appearance of sun-induced dark spots*.
Coppertone Hydrating UV Defense Face Sunscreen Lotion SPF 60+ is enriched with ceramides and leaves skin feeling soft and moisturized, providing all-day hydration**. (Also available in as a convenient facial sunscreen stick with SPF 55).
*with continued use and other sun protection measures. Use and reapply as directed.
** for sun protection, use and reapply as directed.
How to Apply Face Sunscreen:
Here are a few tips to make sure you are getting the most out of your facial sunscreen:
- If you wear makeup, apply sunscreen first before applying foundation or other makeup1.
- Apply face sunscreen generously and evenly to all exposed skin areas 15 minutes before sun exposure.
- Pay close attention to key areas that are often overlooked, such as the ears, back of the neck, and the scalp. These areas are particularly vulnerable to sunburn and need adequate coverage.
- Blend the sunscreen well into the skin to ensure complete coverage and avoid streaks or missed spots.
- Reapply sunscreen at least once every two hours*, and use a water-resistant sunscreen if you're swimming or sweating.
Sunscreen or products with SPF require reapplication at least every 2 hours, or 40/80 minutes after sweating/swimming as applicable to the product. Use a water-resistant sunscreen if swimming or sweating.
Additional Tips for Using Face Sunscreen:
To maximize the effectiveness of your face sunscreen, it's important to keep these additional tips in mind.
- Choose the right SPF level for your skin type and activity level. If you’re planning to spend a full day in the sunshine, opt for a higher SPF level such as 50 or above.
- Apply face sunscreen at least 15 minutes before sun exposure.
- Reapply sunscreen every two hours and use a water-resistant sunscreen if you are swimming or sweating.
- Use your face sunscreen in conjunction with other sun protection measures like wearing a hat and sunglasses and be sure to use as directed on the packaging.
- When storing your sunscreen, protect this product from excessive heat and direct sun.
